Sexism
At DTU, we take sexism seriously
Sexism is any action, gesture, visual representation, spoken or written word, practice or behavior based on the idea that a person or group of persons is inferior because of their gender.
(Council of Europe #StopSexism)
DTU works with sexism by:
- strengthen the dialogue that sexism is here;
- creating an awareness about sexism in order to identify it;
- promote the courage to talk about sexism; and
- offers tools to work proactively with it.
Sexism is about gender:
- Sexism concerns all of us
- Sexism is in our culture
Sexism includes (examples):
- Everyday sexism which we barely notice
- The well-meaning sexism which is often excused with humor
- The offensive sexual harassment which there is a formal process for handling at DTU
Experienced or witnessed unpleasant behavior?
