Emergency plan - DTU
This emergency plan is the general guiding document for DTU’s emergency response, and applies to all DTU locations.
Emergency plan
The purpose of the DTU emergency plan is to create a common framework for dealing with incidents which cannot be managed using normal resources and routines. The focus of the plan is to save lives and valuable property, focus on continuity and restore operations at DTU after an incident. The emergency plan describes how DTU’s emergency is organized, and roles and responsibilities in dealing with incidents at various crisis levels. The emergency plan is thus the general guiding document for emergency response actions throughout DTU.
The Executive Board has approved the emergency plan, and a public version (DK/UK) is available for reading - se fact box on the right.
For access to a full version of the emergency plan (internal use), please contact CAS AB – see contact boxes on the right.
Emergency instructions
The emergency plan is accompanied by emergency instructions – see fact box on the right.A special version for the ‘Brand- og evakueringsinstruks’ (fire and evacuation instruction) and ‘Radioaktivt udslip’ (radioactive leak) instruction is available under Beredskabstavler (emergency information boards). These instructions will eventually be adapted to align the layout and design idiom with that of other instructions and will be accessible from a single location.
In this context, school shooting, active shooter, mass shooting and act of terror are referred to as Påbegyndte Livsfarlige Og Voldelige handlinger (initiated deadly and violent acts), abbreviated PLOV by the auhorities. DTU follows the recommendations of the authorities, which contain three elements:
RUN – HIDE – TELL
Emergency instructions for the area can be found in the fact box on the right under ‘Livsfarlige Og Voldelige handlinger’.
DTU emergency management has also set up a text message (SMS) warning system which enables the issuing of urgent messages with an instruction. It is therefore important that you, as an employee or student, have updated your telephone number in DTUBasen—please follow the instructions under SMS-beredskabsmeddelelser (emergency text message alerts).
