Emergency facilitators

Subpages are updated continuously in the event of changes in legislation, new executive orders, new agreements/contracts, etc.

DTU’s emergency system is based on prevention and on building capacity in the form of customized countermeasures. According to the sector responsibility principle, responsibility for local safety is delegated to the individual university entities, which must implement preventive and corrective measures based on specific risk assessments.

As part of the local preventive efforts, each individual university entity must appoint a designated emergency facilitator, who is tasked with supporting the preventive measures.

Emergency facilitators are normally appointed from among the members of the occupational health and safety organization, and their work should be seen as a supplement to the occupational health and safety organisation’s other activities.

The duties of the emergency facilitator include:

  • Organization of at least one annual evacuation drill per building with more than 50 users.
  • Inspection and updating of emergency boards.
  • Printing of evacuation plans and hanging them up (terminates).
  • Ensuring that emergency equipment is accessible.
  • Regular advising of building users on fire prevention, see house rules for DTU’s buildings with particular focus on ensuring that escape routes are not impaired.
