Construction consultancy services

If you need more m2, new facilities, or large-scale renovations, Campus Service’s team of building experts are ready to provide you with strategic advice and guidance.

Below you can read more about the process for large-scale renovations and new builds at DTU. If this concerns a minor construction or renovation project - such as putting up a new wall - you must use DTU’s ordering system to place your order.

The project idea is assessed and qualified

    1. The department, centre, or office presents its needs and wishes to DTU’s Executive Board, for example on the basis of the development goals and measures (UMV). You then agree with the Executive Board whether an analysis should be initiated with the assistance of Campus Service.
    2. If the Executive Board approves that you proceed with the idea, you will contact Campus Service for an assessment of the project. We assess a number of matters, including whether there are resources for the project and whether the project fits into DTU's existing building stock or requires a new build.
    3. If we agree to proceed with the project, the client office in Campus Service will begin the analysis work and help you identify your needs.
    4. A recommendation is then submitted to DTU’s Executive Board to create the project on the investment and modernization plan (the IM plan).
    5. A recommendation is subsequently submitted to DTU’s Board of Governors to approve the project on the IM plan. If the project is approved in the first round, it will be entered in the IM plan and marked in yellow.
    6. In the subsequent phase, Campus Service will qualify the project further.
    7. In conclusion, a recommendation is submitted to DTU’s Executive Board and Board of Governors for final approval off the project. If the project is approved, it will be marked in green in the IM plan.
    8. The project is now ready to be initiated.

    The project is initiated

If the project is approved by DTU’s Executive Board and Board of Governors, we are now ready to get started. The project then proceeds as follows:

    1. Campus Service initiates the project with the formal user involvement
    2. The building project is planned
    3. The building work is commenced

    About DTU’s client office

DTU is a university with its own client office. The office is located in Campus Service and is responsible for developing and planning DTU’s construction projects.

Our basis for renovations and new builds is the Strategic Campus Plan for DTU Ballerup, Risø, and Lyngby. We work holistically, and our objective is that we only build what is necessary. We focus on ensuring that new builds are developed and located with consideration for both existing and future needs at DTU.

In Campus Service’s client office, we involve the users - i.e. researchers, students and staff - in the development of all our projects. We work continuously with Campus Service Operations and thus ensure that all buildings are operationally optimized to the greatest possible extent.
